when arthouse becomes crap

i’ve just finished watching a movie from the 2004 italian film festival, and it has the most disappointing ending for a movie i have seen in a bloody long time. they spent all this time building these beautiful characters and developing this very interesting conflict, and right at the pinicle point of the movie the director must have turned the page and realised that the writer, too, had no idea how to finish it, and had just stapled a couple of blank pages there. The director, completely at a loss on what to do, did what any panicking self respecting director does at this time, and kills of the character central to the conflict.

i like to call it ‘the neighbours approach’.

anyway, “the wedding dress”. shit film. or rather, gooooood film; shithouse ending.
